While you record a walk, Every Street uses GPS, like any fitness app. With Auto walk on, it doesn’t use GPS while you’re not walking: it waits until your phone’s motion sensors report walking, and only then turns on precise location. A walk ends by itself a few minutes after you stop walking or get on a bus or train.

If you don’t need automatic walks, leave Auto walk off and start walks yourself.

Open You › Import. Every Street reads GPX, TCX and FIT files (Garmin, Komoot, AllTrails, Runkeeper, Polar, Suunto, COROS and many more export them), the bulk data export from Strava, your Google Timeline export, and walks, hikes and runs with a route from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).

Imported files are read on your phone. Nothing is uploaded.

Nothing, unless you share. Your location, walks and progress stay on your phone. If you turn on “Share my totals” for leaderboards and crews, your display name, home district and block counts are stored online, and turning it off deletes them. Details: privacy policy.

Open Every Street and enter the code from the invite under You › Crews. The code is the last part of the link (…/join/AB12CD34).

Tell us which city you’d like to walk: jakob.sudau@icloud.com. Every city is built from OpenStreetMap data and gets its own flavour (local street vocabulary, a signature street, sets to complete), so new cities take a while, but requests decide which city comes next.

Turn off “Share my totals” in You › Settings to delete everything online; uninstalling the app deletes everything on your phone. Step by step: Delete your account and data.

Während du einen Walk aufzeichnest, nutzt Every Street GPS, wie jede Fitness-App. Mit Auto-Walk nutzt die App kein GPS, solange du nicht läufst: Sie wartet, bis die Bewegungssensoren deines Handys Gehen melden, und schaltet erst dann die genaue Ortung ein. Öffne Every Street und gib den Code aus der Einladung unter Du › Crews ein. Der Code ist der letzte Teil des Links (…/join/AB12CD34).

Sag uns, welche Stadt du laufen möchtest: jakob.sudau@icloud.com. Jede Stadt wird aus OpenStreetMap-Daten gebaut und bekommt ihren eigenen Charakter (lokales Straßenvokabular, eine typische Straße, Sets zum Vervollständigen). Neue Städte brauchen daher etwas Zeit, aber die Wünsche entscheiden, welche als Nächstes kommt.

Schalte „Meine Summen teilen“ unter Du › Einstellungen aus, dann wird alles online gelöscht; wenn du die App entfernst, ist auch alles auf deinem Handy weg. Schritt für Schritt: Konto und Daten löschen.
